At the Auto Expo 2014, Hero Motorcorp introduced their top-of-the-line HX250R motorcycle. Now, according to a report, Hero will be launching the new motorcycle in the month of November.
The Hero HX250R is powered by a brand new 249cc, 4 stroke single cylinder DOHC, liquid cooled motor which churns out 31 PS of max power and will come mated to a six speed constant mesh transmission. The lightweight and powerful quarter-liter vehicle has been jointly developed by Hero Motocorp, America’s Eric Buell Racing (EBR), AVL (Austria) and Engines Engineering.
At the front, the HX250R gets twin telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers, while at the rear it gets a monoshock with 5 step adjustable preload and shim valve damping. Stopping power comes from a 300mm, triple piston caliper with optional ABS. The rear wheel gets a 220mm linked disc unit with combined braking and ABS as an option. The bike gets an underseat exhaust.
The Hx250R gets 17×2.75 inch alloy wheel up front with 110/80R – 17 rubber and 17 x 4.0 inch alloy wheels with 140/70R-17 rubber on the rear wheel. Both wheels are shod with unidirectional tubeless tyres. The bike tips the scales at 139 kgs and has a fuel capacity of 12.5 liter. The low weight will make the Hero HX250R have an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 223 PS/ton.
The Hero HX250R price will be pegged at upwards of INR 1.50 lakh. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more dope on the Hero HX250R launch.
