Hero Cycles Pay heartfelt tribute to their founder, Shri O P Munjal at Founders Day

August 26, 2017, marks the occasion of Founders day for Hero Cycles Limited. With over six decades of unprecedented success for Hero Cycles Limited, the world’s largest bicycle manufacturing company found it best to celebrate this occasion by paying a heartfelt tribute to their founder, Shri O P Munjal.

The event took place at the Hero Cycles premises on GT Road Ludhiana, filling the entire facility with overwhelming love and respect which the entire Munjal family paid to Shri O P Munjal. Shri O P Munjal was remembered for his precious contribution in making Hero Cycles what it is today. Members from the third generation of the Munjal family were present at the event amongst other guests.

Shri Pankaj Munjal, Chairman and Managing Director, Hero Cycles, shared his tribute saying, “Hero Cycles Founder Shri O P Munjal had a vision which has been translated into success. From a humble start in 1956, Hero Cycles has come a long way and become the largest bicycle manufacturer in the world. And all credit goes to Shri O P Munjal. We will continue to live and implement the vision he had and walk the path that he wanted us to walk and be continually guided by the core philosophy of our business which he had laid down.”

Before the dawn of Hero Cycles, Shri O P Munjal had started with the trading of cycle parts followed by their manufacturing in Punjab six decades ago. At present, Hero Cycles has a Global Design Centre in the UK and exports its various offerings to countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Adding on to the exceptional development of this company, Hero Cycles now has a manufacturing capacity of 7.5 million bicycles per year, with manufacturing plants in Ludhiana(Punjab), Bihta(Bihar); Ghaziabad(UP).
