Kia Carens globally revealed

Here Are 5 Features That We Wish Kia Carens Didn’t Miss Out On

Kia has been sort of a pioneer when it comes to loading its cars to the gills with features. Seltos was the first mass-market car to bring in features such as a 360-degree parking camera with a blind-view monitor. The Sonet brought in ventilated seats which were unheard of in its segment. It goes without saying that the recently revealed Carens is expected to offer something similar as well. However, it does miss out on a few features which its siblings and the competition already offers. Let’s take a look at it:

Kia Carens Front

360-degree parking camera and blind view monitor

As mentioned before, the Kia Seltos kick-started the trend of 360-degree parking cameras with a blind view monitor in the mass market segment. You might think that the similarly positioned Carens might get the same considering its size. However, Kia has given it a miss. You do get a driver rearview monitor wherein you can keep the rear parking camera engaged while driving. Another thing to note is that the Creta-based Alcazar gets this feature which could lure a lot of buyers.

Electrically adjustable driver seat

Though you may not feel the need to adjust your seat every now and then, it is good to have the convenience at your fingertips. It could particularly be useful when there are multiple people driving the car and adjusting the seat according to your comfort every time would become a chore. Not to forget, almost every car in the segment like the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar come with this feature.

Panoramic sunroof

It is no secret that Indians are obsessed with sunroofs and more so with the panoramic ones. Carmakers are in a race these days where everyone claims to have the bigger sunroof.  The Carens comes with a standard sunroof when compared to the panoramic unit which every single competitor offers in the segment.

Electronic parking brake with auto-hold

Again, this feature is offered by all the contenders in the segment. The electronic parking brake is not just convenient, but it is also quite useful. The auto-hold feature ensures that you don’t need to engage the parking brake every time you are at the signal. It also helps in liberating more space in the center console for storage space.

Head-up display

Now, a head-up display may not be as useful or sought-after as some of the other features in the list. However, the Kia already offers this feature in the Seltos. Kia is known to offer segment-first features and offering a head-up display would have made it stand out from the crowd since no other 7-seater currently offers it.
