Harley-Davidson unveiled the Street 750 in India at the recently concluded India Bike Week. We were there at the event to see the unveiling ceremony live. Our man at the event, Arnob Gupta was not just covering the event, but was also a guest, invited exclusively by the organizers to put his record breaking bike on display and to interact with the interested audience. He sent us some new Harley Street 500 images from the event, along with a whole bunch of images of the rest of the activities at the event.
The Harley Street 750, which was unveiled earlier at 2013 edition of EICMA, is a brand new motorcycle by Harley-Davidson in as many as 14 years! Designed to keep certain developing markets in mind, with a special focus on India, the new Street 750 is powered by an all-new Revolution X Engine. This new engine boasts of liquid cooling, which is a first for a Harley motorcycle. The new Harley Davidson Street 750 will be assembled at H-D’s Bawal facility in Haryana.
Another model on the Revolution X platform is the Street 500. The smaller capacity bike, for now has not been confirmed for India, but we have a feeling that the bike will be introduced to our market at a later point. The Street 750 is expected to cost less than INR 5 lakhs OTR, and the smaller Street 500 is expected to cost even less, if and when launched in India.
After the India Bike Week, the Street 750 will be showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February and is expected to hit the dealerships soon thereafter.
