Earlier this month, we posted that our reliable sources have informed us that Harley Davidson India might NOT launch the recently unveiled 2014 Street 500 in the country.
While it is logical for Harley Davidson to introduce the new Street 500 in India, they seem to be opting a top to bottom strategy and haven’t yet made any plans of launching the Street 500 here. However, what is coming our way for sure is the new 2014 Street 750.
In the latest development, Harley Davidson India boss has informed Sirish Chandran from Evo Magazine that the Street 750, which would be locally manufactured in India, would have an on-road price of under INR 5 lakhs! This means that the Street 500, if at all it is launched in India, could go on sale for a price of INR 4.25 lakhs.
The new Harley Davidson Street 750 and Street 500 motorcycles are based on the first all-new platform from the iconic bike maker in 14 years. Harley says that these bikes are built for urban environments with all new liquid cooled Revolution X powertrains, promise nimble agility and have typical modern day Harley Davidson styling.
The 2014 Harley Davidson Street 750′s motor displaces approx 750cc and has a max power of more than 52bhp. The engine has a V Twin layout and benefits from liquid cooling and fuel injection. The engine comes mated to a 6 speed manual ‘box and the new mo’bike rides 2 inches higher than the Iron 883.
The new 2014 Harley Davidson Street 750 will be available in two paint options- red and black.
