‘Golden Athlete’ Neeraj Chopra To Receive An XUV700 From Anand Mahindra

Last Saturday, social media networks erupted with celebratory tweets and messages for Neeraj Chopra as he clinched a Gold Medal in Javelin throw in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The 23-year old Subedar Neeraj Chopra’s javelin throw gave India its first medal in athletics and that too, a gold! Moreover, he’s only the second Indian to win an individual gold medal after Abhinav Bindra managed to shoot his way to gold in Beijing Olympics. While the wave of happiness took over the whole country, a user requested business tycoon Anand Mahindra to gift the gold medalist a Mahindra XUV700 — the company’s upcoming SUV. And guess what? The man obliged!

Here’s how it all went down

Apart from spearheading a multi-dimensional organization like Mahindra, Anand Mahindra is also known for his contributions to society. Twiterratis however, are familiar with another side of Anand Mahindra. He often gains the limelight for his wit and generosity. So when a user requested an XUV700 for the pride of our nation, how could he have just looked away! Replying to a user on Twitter, Anand Mahindra said, Yes indeed. It will be my personal privilege & honour to gift our Golden Athlete an XUV 7OO. He also tagged two executives of the company and asked them to keep the SUV ready for the Javelin thrower.

Mahindra XUV700

The upcoming Mahindra XUV700 has to be one of the most hotly anticipated vehicles of recent times and rightly so! It might have received a lukewarm response from the Indian audience when it was first spotted without camouflage but it managed to win their trust back when it was spotted recently out on the road, wearing a sporty red shade. Apart from introducing many first-in-segment features, it is also slated to become the most powerful SUV in its class.
