India is looking poised to become the world’s largest bike market and Japanese two wheeler giant Yamaha is betting big on its Indian operations. Indian bike market has been clearly featured in the bike maker’s 3 year medium term plan and here we have a clear report of what Yamaha plans for our two wheeler market.
It has always been known that Yamaha wishes to channel all its focus on automatic scooter segment and now we also have an official confirmation that the bike maker would launch a 250cc sportsbike in a couple of years.
As our sources have been telling us, the latest report from Yamaha talks about the bike maker’s plans to launch the world’s least expensive bike in India. The basic motorcycle would battle it out against the highly popular but the very dated Hero Splendour and the Bajaj Discover 100.
Also expect a Yamaha FZ series facelift to debut sometime in 2015.
