Fuel prices were reduced for the second consecutive occasion as the prices of petrol and diesel came down by INR 2.25 and INR 0.42 per litre respectively. With the new prices coming into effect from the midnight of 15th / 16th July, petrol will now cost Rs. 62.51 per litre while diesel will cost Rs. 54.28 per litre in Delhi.
Indian Oil Corporation issued a statement which said, “The current level of international product prices of Petrol & Diesel and INR-USD exchange rate warrant decrease in price of Petrol and increase in price of Diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision. The movement of prices in the international oil market and INR-USD exchange rate shall continue to be monitored closely and developing trends of the market will be reflected in future price changes.”
