Four-Wheeler Sales July 2017 : Consolidated Car And SUV Sales Numbers

Four-wheeler manufacturers in India recently released their sales report for the month of July 2017. Here’s a consolidated sales report of car and SUV manufacturers for the month of July 2017.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars India

Volkswagen announced its monthly sales performance for July 2017, selling 4,753 units, constituting a 10.5% growth as compared to 4,301 vehicles sold in the corresponding month of the previous year. Continuing the sales momentum for the year 2017 Volkswagen registered above industry growth rate of 13% year-to-date.

Honda Cars India

Honda Cars India registered monthly domestic sales of 17,085 units in July 2017 against 14,033 units in corresponding month last year, registering a growth of 22%. The company has been maintaining strong sales momentum in the current fiscal year and has sold 55,647 units during April – July 2017 with a cumulative growth of over 21% as against 45,880 units in the corresponding period April – July 2016.

Hyundai Motor India

Hyundai Motor India registered the Domestic sales of 43,007 units for the month of July 2017. The car maker sold 43,007 units in July 2017, versus 41,201 unit during corresponding month last year, registering a growth of 4.4%.

Ford India

Ford India’s combined domestic wholesales and exports in July 2017 reached 26,075 vehicles from 17,742 vehicles in the corresponding month last year. July domestic wholesales recorded 8,418 vehicles, as against 7,076 units, while exports grew to 17,657 vehicles compared to 10,666 units in July of last year.

Tata Motors

The overall commercial vehicles sales in July 2017, in the domestic market were at 27,842 units higher by 15% over July 2016, due to ramp-up of BS4 production, across segments.

In July 2017, Tata Motors passenger vehicles, in the domestic market, recorded sales at 14,933 units, with a growth of 10%, over 13,547 units, in July 2016, due to continued strong demand for the Tata Tiago and the Tata Tigor. While the car segment marginally degrew by 1% at 12,125 units, the UV segment grew by 110% at 2,808 units, due to strong demand for Tata HEXA. Cumulative sales growth of all passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were at 49,791 units, a growth of 10%, compared to 45,062 units, in the last fiscal.

The company’s sales from exports was at 3441 units in July 2017, a decline of 36%, compared to 5,371 vehicles sold in July 2016, due to drop in volumes in Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Mahindra & Mahindra

Mahindra & Mahindra announced its auto sales performance for July 2017 which stood at 41,747 vehicles, compared to 39,458 vehicles during July 2016, representing a growth of 6%. The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold 20,962 vehicles in July 2017, as against 17,356 vehicles during July 2016, registering a growth of 21%. The company’s domestic sales stood at 39,762 vehicles during July 2017, as against 35,305 vehicles during July 2016, a growth of 13%. In July 2017, the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment sold 657 vehicles, a growth of 72%. Exports for July 2017 stood at 1,985 vehicles.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor

Toyota Kirloskar Motor recorded its best ever July sales in 2017, selling a total of 17,750 units in the domestic market thereby registering over 43% growth as compared to its domestic sales in the corresponding period last year. This is the company’s third highest ever domestic sales achievement in a month. The company also exported 1,723 units of the Etios series this month. Toyota Kirloskar Motor had sold 12,404 units in the domestic market and exported 1,344 units of the Etios series in July 2016.
