A couple of days back, we came up with a list of five used bikes under 40000 rupees of asking price in the used market. CLICK HERE to read our earlier report. Our previous story has a list of a handful of bikes that might have become a bit too long in the tooth now but continue to bestow their riders with an exciting performance. What’s even better is that these models are available at almost rock bottom prices in the used market. Today, we’ve come up with another list that comprises of details of four models that sell for at least a lakh rupees in the new bike market but are available in the used market for a considerably lesser amount, regardless of the fact that most of these are well maintained and do not have a high mileage on the odo. Without beating around the bush any longer, here is a list of four exciting used bikes under 80000 rupees of asking price-
(arranged in alphabetical order)
Bajaj Pulsar 200NS
The most modern Pulsar motorcycle ever, the 200NS doesn’t enjoy a great resale value and hence, it is fairly easy to get your hands on a 2013 model with less than 10,000 kms on odo for an asking price of less than INR 80000. At that price, the 200NS is a lot of bike for your money. Powered by a single cylinder, 200cc, carbureted engine that finds its roots in the 200 Duke’s motor, the P200NS enjoys great power along with respectable fuel economy. The fact that the Pulsar 200NS is a decent road handler and comes with enough features to put to shame some pricier models makes the deal even sweeter. Its fairly easy to find attractive deals on this one!
Hero Karizma ZMR
The ZMR might no longer enjoy the premium image that it once enjoyed but that doesn’t make it any less of a performer. Powered by a fuel injected version of the Karizma’s 223cc single cylinder motor, the Hero Karizma ZMR comes across as a fairly potent performer that has high levels of refinement and enough power to make it a decent mile muncher. Worth a mention here is that the ZMR facelift has already been unveiled and the updated model might be launched anytime now but that again, shouldn’t be much of a damper if you consider that the current model looks far more well proportioned and handsome than what’s coming our way. You can easily get a late 2012 model with less than 15,000 kms on the odo for an asking price of INR 80000.
KTM 200 Duke
The bike that painted our streets orange, the Duke 200 is today the most sought after product among all the premium Indian motorcycles in the 200-250cc segment. Powered by a fuel injected 200cc engine, the KTM 200 Duke has enough power to put some bigger bikes to shame and the light kerb weight further bestows it with a class leading power to weight ratio. Factor in great road handling manners and that tasty bodywork and you are looking at a street naked like none other in this price range. Summing it all up, the KTM 200 Duke has a really capable engine, attractive looks, good handling and a fast growing service network. For INR 80,000, you can easily get your hands on a 2012 model, with less than 20,000 kms on the odo.
Yamaha YZF-R15 V2.0
Easily the sportiest looking bike in its segment, the YZF-R15 is also a great performer. While powering it is just a 150cc engine, it is the terrific handling prowess that makes the R15 our favorite. While you can get used R15s for as low as INR 50000, it is the V2.0 that we want you to look for. This facelift brought along some tastier body work, along with a new swingarm and fatter rubber. The R15 retailns its value pretty well but you can still find yourself a 2012 model, with anywhere around 20-30000 kms on the odo within a budget of INR 80,000. Definitely the one for those with corner carving dreams.
So, on which one of these used bikes under 80000 rupees have you set your eyes on?
