The compact SUV segment in India might be boiling hot right now but there was a time when this segment didn’t have this many offerings. The Ford Ecosport is attributed to be one of the segment-starters in this regard. It has always been one of the most important offerings in Ford India’s portfolio and the carmaker has too, made sure that it remains relevant and updated. In the same wake, it seems like Ford India is readying another facelift of the Ecosport and the same has been spied yet again.
Looking at the previous images which were spied, we got to know that the front fascia will get the most changes such as the front grille will be larger in size and shape will be different.
The bumper design looks more aggressive with a new DRL setup. Now coming to the new DRL set up, it is an inverted L shape set up which surrounds the fog lamps housing. The DRLs can be seen lit up in the new spied images. The whole look changes the front and seems more aggressive. The new alloy has a 5 spoke design that completely changes the whole look of the car, which is great. There are no changes at the rear, the whole setup is similar to the current one.
Now coming to the interior, there seems to be no change in the interior. The new one will likely be getting the same 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features are rain-sensing wipers, push-button start, leather seats, Isofix child mounts, electronic mirrors. As far as safety is concerned, there will 6 airbags in the car.
Now coming to the heart of the car, the facelifted Ecosport will be getting the same engine options as the current one. The current Ecosport is offered with 2 engine options, 1.5L 3-cylinder TiVCT petrol which churns out 121 bhp of max power and 149 Nm of peak torque. The second engine offered is the 1.5L TDCI diesel which kicks out 99 bhp of max power and 215 Nm of peak torque. Both engines are equipped with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic.
