Ford Ecosport sightings have become commonplace now, highlighting the launch readiness of the model for the Indian market. The stocky looking compact SUV which will be offered with three different engine types to the Indian market, has been captured at length by Chennai based Rajesh Mani. Mr. Mani managed to take some high quality videos of the new car from all possible angles and in two different colors, which included a bright yellow. Here’s the video
The Ford Ecosport has commanding stance with a high driving position. The rear mounted spare wheel adds further to the macho looks. The car will come to India with Daytime Running Lights to add further to the premium feel.
On the inside, the car will share some parts with its Fiesta cousin. The Dashboard and several other parts will be taken from the Fiesta. The car will come loaded with features and technologies such as four airbags, Hill Launch Assist, Traction control, ABS and EBD. Adding to user convenience will be Push button start, cooled glove box and keyless entry.
The Ecosport will have two petrol and one diesel engines propelling it. There will be the current 1.5 liter petrol and diesel engines taken from the Fiesta sedan, and then there will be the technologically advanced 1.0-liter Ecoboost engine.
The 1.0 litre EcoBoost engines feature turbocharging, direct injection and other technologies for an incredible 120bhp of peak power output and lower fuel consumption. Mated to the EcoBoost engine will be a 6 speed dual clutch automatic transmission that will make the EcoSport the first crossover under INR 15 lakhs to offer a 6 speed DCT.
