Force Motors unveiled their Gurkha off-roader in February. But despite the launch and announcement of all the specifications and prices, Force Motors did not put the vehicle up for sales. The company, after receiving several responses from auto experts went back to the drawing board to fine tune their product.
Prasan Firodia, MD of Force Motors said, “The feedback received from auto experts and select group of users during test drives has helped us further fine tune the Force Gurkha into an extremely capable off roader.”
The Gurkha would be powered by the 2.6-litre Mercedes OM 616-derived turbo charged intercooled engine that churns out 85 bhp of power and 85 bhp at 3,200 rpm and a peak torque of 230 Nm at 1,800-2,000 rpm. The power is transferred to all four wheels with a five-speed manual transmission. It also gets a crawler feature that enables it to scale steep slopes.
The Gurkha will be available in three colours and will come with warranty of 3 year or 3,00,000 km and will be priced at Rs 6.25 lakh for the soft top and Rs 8.25 lakh for the hardtop (ex-showroom Delhi)
With the expert advice, Force Motors has been able to fine tune the Gurkha. However, it remains to be seen how the new off-roader will perform.
