Surprise-surprise! Our friends at MotorBash have come up with spy pics of the upcoming 2013 Fiat Linea. While it has always been known that the Linea facelift is headed to Indian car market, it is for the first time that a 2013 Fiat Linea facelift test mule has been spotted in India. The test mule was caught testing near Pune. The Linea facelift is already on sale in many international car markets and could be launched in India towards the end of the current fiscal.
As with all mid life facelifts, Fiat Linea facelift sports a new fascia with a new bumper, grille and a lip spoiler. Also, the car gets a new rear bumper and revised taillights. Designers at Fiat have done away with the slightly Audi-ish ‘Bulgarian beard’ and the Linea now comes with a grille that reminds us of that on the last generation Hyundai Accent/Verna.
The Linea facelift is expected to bring along with it the 1.6L Multijet diesel engine. This engine would be offered along with the 1.4L turbocharged petrol motor from the Linea T-JET.
Also expect a longer equipment list and a refreshed interiors.
The Linea has never been very successful in taking the upper C segment of Indian car market bu storm and has suffered mainly due to poor after sales support being was provided by the Tata-Fiat venture. However, with Fiat India having done away with the Tata link and taking steps to improve its network, the Linea facelift could have a better fate than the pre-facelift model.
