Fiat Punto facelift has been spotted testing in Pune again. This time, Vishal Gurav from Team Fiat Moto Club Facebook Group has spied the car on Fergusson College road in Pune. Thanks to the plenty of spy pics if the Fiat Punto facelift which have surfaced on the cyberspace, its is evident that the Fiat Punto facelift India launch will happen in the second half of this year.
This facelift will merely be a cosmetic update, with the engine and transmission carried over from the outgoing model.
For the facelifted model, the car will come with new headlamps and a redesigned front bumper. The front grille and fog lamps on the car are also new. At the rear section, the Punto Facelift will come with a new set of tail lamps and a redesigned rear bumper.
On the inside, as can be seen in the pics, the car will boast of a new dashboard design, with a dual tone black-beige combination. The car will also features new center console and a refreshed instrument cluster.
As already mentioned, the powertrain options will be carried over from the outgoing model, which includes the 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine, which comes in two states of tune- 75 bhp-197 Nm and 90 bhp-209 Nm. The petrol engine duty will be performed by the 1.2 and 1.4 liter motors producing 68 bhp-96 Nm and 90 bhp-115 Nm respectively. All the engines will come mated to the 5 speed manual transmission.
The Fiat Punto sales suffered mainly due to the thin service network. After the split of Fiat-Tata JV for sales and service, Fiat is trying to improve the dealer network, and will soon reach the target of 100 dealerships in the country. The facelift can help the Indian subsidiary of the Italian car maker to garner more sales from the model.
