Shortly after Jeep announced its plans to launch a Polar limited edition of the Wrangler for the Frankfurt Motor Show, Fiat has made a decision to showcase the Panda 4×4 Antartica and Freemont Black Code at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Freemont Black Code is nothing but a rebadged version of the Dodge Journey Blacktop Edition. It sports a gloss black grille, smoked headlights and 19 inch alloys.
Changes to the interior are relatively limited but the model comes equipped with a premium audio system and an infotainment system with an 8.4-inch display and also heated leather seats.
It is available in two engine options. A 2.0-litre MultiJet II which belts out 170 HP of max power, and a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 which produces an adequate 280 HP of max power. The diesel variant is only front wheel drive where as the V6 petrol gets all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Freemont Black Code is scheduled to go on sale in early 2014 and the pricing will be announced when it inches closer to its launch.
The Panda 4×4 Antartica celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Panda 4×4. This special edition is based on the Rock variant and is distinguished by two-tone exterior with orange mirror caps and also carries special badging and wears 15-inch alloy wheels.
The two-tone theme carries over to the cabin featuring grey and orange upholstery.
Under the hood, the Panda is available in two engine options which include a 0.9 litre TwinAir Turbo producing a max power of 85 HP and also a 1.3 litre MultiJet II oil burner having 75 HP on the tap.
