Fiat India to Export Avventura after India Launch

Fiat Group Automobiles India (FGAIPL), the Indian subsidiary of the Chrysler Group, will be exporting the Avventura after its India launch in the second half of this year. The Avventura rides on the same platform used on the Punto.

While the company has refrained from disclosing the details, it said that plans to export the Avventura Contemporary Urban Vehicle to key global markets will be initiated after the vehicle is launched in the Indian market. Powering the Fiat Avventura would be the same 1.3 litre Multijet diesel and 1.4 litre normally aspirated FIRE petrol engines that power the Punto.

“We will be looking at right-hand driven markets as a priority but there is no firm plan yet on which those markets are going to be. Our priority will also be to make sure we have enough capacity to cater to the domestic market,” said Nagesh Basavanhalli, president and managing director, FGAIPL.

The new Fiat Avventura boasts of visual enhancements such as tail gate mounted spare wheel for a “macho” look and the upcoming model should appeal to those who require the visual appeal of an SUV with the practicality of a hatchback. The Fiat Avventura will sport plastic body cladding and dual chrome exhausts. The car comes in a dual tone exterior paint job.
