Fiat India has today announced that it plans to introduce the Fiat Abarth in ever growing Indian car market. Fiat Abarth India might even have a seperate sales network and the first car to come from Fiat Abarth India could be a Abarth version of Fiat Grande Punto.
The Abarth Punto would be powered by a more powerful version of the 1.4-litre turbo-charged petrol motor that powers the Linea Tjet. Safely expect the Abarth Grand Punto to have around 140hp of power and a stuffer suspension.
It may be noted that ever since the demise of the last generation Skoda Octavia vRS, there exists a huge void in the ‘affordable performance car segment’ and the Abarth Grande Punto could be what the doctor has ordered.
author, i hate to point out your mistake i.e. it has 1.4ltr multiair engine not 1.4 FIRE t-Jet engine & it produces 165Hp & top variants may give upto 180PS & >300Nm torque. fitted with pirelli tires , disc brakes on four corners & 16inch alloys if FIAT want it to be as it is in Italy!
