DEVOT Motors Showcases 200 km Range EV Bike

At the 2023 Auto Expo in Greater Noida, electric vehicle startup DEVOT Motors from Jodhpur revealed its electric bicycle. The bike has a top speed of 120km/h. The production-ready prototype vehicle is powered by a high-performance 9.5 KW motor 200 kilometres of travel distance on a single charge. The bike charges completely in 3 hours and is perfect for both daily commuting and lengthy excursions.

The electric vehicle business has set up an R&D centre in the UK and a development centre in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The CEO of DEVOT Motors developed a ground-breaking electric motorcycle with a 200km range while conducting research in the UK. He then established a firm in India and returned to his hometown of Jodhpur with the motorcycle.

After homologation, the bike is anticipated to arrive on Indian roads by the middle of 2023. The brand has set a target of 70–90% localisation. The EV startup is ready to attract riders that don’t compromise on comfort and performance after doing extensive market research. The research was held in determining client likes and dislikes, creating the whole supplier base, prototyping and other steps. The bike’s aesthetics are quite clean and classic. There are lots of nice paint possibilities for the tank and side cover panels.

The bike is expected to be priced at around Rs 1.5 lakh and it is powered by a 2.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It is equipped with a regenerative braking system, reverse assist, and a Smartphone app for tracking and diagnostics. The bike will come with a top speed of 95 km/h and has a range of 200 km on a single charge. The company has also set up charging stations across Jodhpur and plans to expand to other cities.

The bike includes cutting-edge technologies for the rider’s convenience, including a TFT screen, a Keyless system with anti-theft, and a type 2 charging point. The DEVOT Motors Lithium LFP battery is less prone to problems brought on by the depth of discharge. The bike was designed by DEVOT with environmental sustainability in mind in addition to its potent performance. The EV bike is a more environmentally friendly option than traditional motorbikes powered by petroleum since it emits fewer emissions and uses less energy.
