The Ford EcoSport is surely taking a long to time coming to us. The new Compact SUV from Ford was unveiled at New Delhi in early 2012 and has met with great success in most of the markets it has been launched in.

The Ford EcoSport compact SUV, in most of the markets it is sold in, is powered by a 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine that has brought a lot of laurels to the car maker. The EcoBoost is basically a low capacity, turbocharged petrol engine that has power figures equivalent to those of 50% bigger Normally Aspirated engines.

Ford recently showcased the Europe spec EcoSport at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and it has come to light that the EcoSport for the European market is installed with the Ford SYNC voice-activated in-car connectivity system as well as the SYNC Emergency Assistance. Ford also plans to offer Ford SYNC AppLink on European EcoSport.

Ford will offer the Euro-spec EcoSport with three engine options- a 125PS 1.0 litres EcoBoost petrol engine, a 110PS 1.5 litres Normally Aspirated petrol engine and a 90PS 1.5-liter diesel engine. It is expected that the India-spec EcoSport will get the same engine options, with the 1.0 litre EcoBoost being reserved for flagship variants.

Visually, the Ford EcoSport for European market looks similar to the US spec car and the only visual changes that we can spot are new alloy wheel design, air conditioning vents with black accents, an all-black dashboard with red stitching on the steering wheel and black inserts around the cockpit.

Talking about the Ford EcoSport India Launch, there is a good probability that Ford India would launch the new eagerly awaited Compact SUV in April this year.

  1. Its very difficult to sale in market unless untill its 7 seater. Bcoz Ertiga is superb selling now due to 7 seater with less price. Duster is good movement but it would reached more than what level reached now. Its reduced due to the cost and seating capasity. So if FORD taken into knowledge this will get success otherwise it wont get success as expected.
