DC Design Hyundai Elantra

DC Design’s Hyundai Elantra is a brave attempt! Do you like it?

Regulars here would remember that we reported in detail when DC Design, renowned Indian car designer Dillip Chhabria owned car design group, came up with a body kit for the hot selling Renault Duster compact SUV.

It may be noted that DC Design has already been selling body/interior kits for popular SUVs/MPVs like the Toyota Innova and Mahindra XUV500. DC Design also launched the interior kit for Nissan Sunny, making it so luxurious that it can compete with cars several segments above.

The latest to go under DC Design’s scalpel is the new Hyundai Elantra (Hyundai Avante in some countries).

We have always loved the latest Elantra for its exterior design and believe that the car’s styling is the best representation of Hyundai’s Fluidic Design. This means that it must have been quite some task for DC to improve upon a design which has already garnered so many rave reviews.

Well, this hasn’t deterred the design group and the result is here on these pages for you to see.

DC Design’s Elantra gets a new front grill which invokes memories of the ‘love it or hate it’ styling of the earlier generation of Elantra that was on sale in the country.  The car comes draped in a shade of matte black and the new grille gets red accents. The car also gets some air intakes under the headlamps and completing the new look of the front end is the new set of fog lamps.

When viewed in profile, the biggest change that is visible to us is the red highlight on the crease that runs along the length of this vehicle. The side skirts get DC badges and the car rides on new alloy wheels that are more stylish than what Hyundai sells the car with.

At the rear, the car gets a diffuser and tasty looking triangular exhaust tips.

On the inside, the car comes with a lot of red on seats, door pads, door sills, dashboard and the steering boss.

We have mixed feelings for the DC Design Elantra but there might be many of you who would want to have this customized car in the garage.
