Placed amongst the top 10 toughest motor races in the world, the Rainforest Challenge 2014 commenced its India leg on August 8 at the International Centre Goa. About 25 competitor teams from across India participated in this 6 day event. Members of various off-road clubs as well as touring adventurers from across the country also assembled in Goa to attend this competition when India comes on the Rainforest Challenge Global Series Map.
Malaysian driver Mervyn Lim and co-driver Hamizan Bin Abdul Hamid held the top spot on the first day of the race with scores of 514 in Prologue Special Stages. As the competition entered day 2, participants geared up to excel over other teams and improve their score. The course got even tougher because of rains. However, there was no stopping the competitors who are currently fighting for the Force Gurkha Rainforest Challenge India 2014 title which will give the winning team an automatic entry to the Rainforest Challenge mother event to be held in Malaysia in November.
