Datsun India has teased a special edition of its popular redi-GO hatchback. Called the redi-GO Sport, the special edition model will carry certain cosmetic enhancements to distinguish itself from the regular redi-GO. Reports suggest that the redi-GO Sport is ready to hit the Indian market on September 29, 2016, albeit with a small price premium over the regular model.

As for the cosmetic enhancements, the redi-GO Sport will come with body stripes on the bonnet, roof and doors. The livery will be complemented by blacked out wheel caps with red highlights, along with lower sections of the bumpers finished in black as well. The grille, finished in gunmetal grey will feature a single mesh highlighted in red. The interiors haven’t been revealed yet, but it could feature exclusive seat covers and floor carpets.

The redi-GO Sport is expected to be based on the top-end redi-GO’s top-end ‘S’ grade, which means it’ll have features like DRLs, front power windows, a 2-DIN audio system with AUX and USB connectivity as standard, along with a driver’s airbag that’ll be optional. The redi-GO Sport will be powered by the regular model’s 799 cc three-cylinder petrol engine, good for 53 hp and 72 Nm of torque, while being paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
