Citroen eC3 Launched at ₹11.50 Lakh

It’s been only six months since Citroen launched the C3 hatchback in India and now, they have launched its EV counterpart the Citroen eC3. This makes Citroen the first OEM in India to launch an EV version of their ICE product in such a short span.

Citroen eC3 Design & Specs

The eC3 is based on the C3 that is currently being sold in India. It shares the platform and design of its ICE sibling and is expected to come with very minute visual changes. We only expect to see EV-specific branding and maybe a new color scheme and EV-specific accents. Much like the Tata ICE and EV siblings. The eC3 is equipped with a 30.5 kWh battery with a claimed range of 300-350 km. The 63 KW motor produces close to 85 hp and 143 Nm torque. It will be the only EV in its class.

Citroen eC3 Connectivity

With the new All-Electric-C3, Citroen will also roll out connectivity applications like MY CITROEN CONNECT and C-BUDDY. My Citroen Connect, which is available on both iOS and Android, has 35 intelligent features, including a first-in-segment 7-year subscription, over-the-air software updates, emergency services calls, vehicle tracking, usage-based insurance parameters, and auto crash notification.

Citroen eC3 Service & Warranty

To guarantee customers a stress-free ownership experience, the company will provide special services like remote diagnostics and 100% parts availability for the aftersales network called the L’Atelier Citroen. Citroen Service on Wheels will increase customer accessibility and reach while providing the majority of common repairs right at the customer’s door. This represents the Citroën Service Promise that extends “Comfort at Your Fingertips” for customers.

The eC3 comes with the below warranty package:

Should the competition worry?

The Citroen eC3 is the only EV in its segment. Given its price, it sits between the Tata Tiago EV and the Tata Tigor EV. However, it does lack some features if compared to the Tata Tiago EV which is a tad bit affordable. On the flip side, the eC3 offers more space and comfortable ride quality. While the eC3 might not impact the sales of the Tiago EV, it does give the customers looking to buy the Tigor EV an option to consider. In our opinion, if the eC3 was priced ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh less, it would have made a serious impact on the entry-level EV segment.
