A famous footballer who is also fondly known as ‘CR7’, Christiano Ronaldo has gifted himself the world’s most expensive car. A limited-edition vehicle, only 10 units of the Bugatti Centodieci will exist across the world, each worth 8.5 million Euros!
The Portuguese footballer bought the car after helping his Italian club Juventus win the 36th Serie A Championship. This Bugatti is the latest addition to the star athlete’s garage which is full of many other exotic machines. However, it will only join the others in 2021.
The Centodieci is next-level special and like most of the footballer’s other cars, will be personalised. If you’re wondering about the car’s resemblance to the EB110, the Centodieci in Italian stands for the number 110. This exclusivity on wheels was created as a reinterpretation of Bugatti EB110, which was presented in 1991 as the fastest supercar of its time.
Although a tribute, the Centodieci is remarkable nonetheless and features a modern interpretation of the classic wedge shape, powered by the maker’s W16 engine. As a throwback to the Bugatti’s first hypercar, the Centodieci also flaunts five round air inserts which are placed in the shape of a diamond to feed air into the W16 motor. Like it did in the EB110, the 8-cylinder motor sits under a transparent glass cover, above the rear axle.
Ronaldo already owns a Chiron, which also forms the base for the Centodieci. However, the latter is more exclusive and also runs a state of tune for the motor where it makes 1600Hp, 100 more than what it makes for the Chiron. Lately, Bugatti has also been focusing on developing exclusive cars which can not only decimate numbers in a straight line but also go fast when you show these machines a few bends. The Chiron Pur Sport and the Divo are the latest such examples.
