We have always felt that the upcoming Chevrolet Trax from General Motor might have what it takes to eat into all the fame that has been garnered by the much publicized Ford EcoSport.
The car is about to be launched in the Brazilian market and will be called the Tracker.
The Trax, nay, the Trekker is closely related to the Opel Mokka and shares the platform with the Chevrolet Sonic and Onix sedan.
The Trekker was recently spotted in Brazil and would go on sale in the first quarter of next year. Powering the Brazil spec Chevrolet Trax would be a 1.8 litre engine and the car would compete against the top end variants of the EcoSport. This means that the Renault Duster won’t have anything to fear about.
GM India hasn’t confirmed its plans to bring the Trax to rapidly growing car market but considering that the EcoSport is very close to start its Indian innings, this Chevrolet crossover makes plenty of sense.
