GM India has silently slipped in some updates for the Beat- the very chic B segment hatchback. We reckon that this might have been done due to the recent launch of Nissan Micra Active and hence, the increased competition that the Beat would have now to deal with. These updates are based on the customer feedback that the carmaker has collected.
The Beat will now come with a height adjustable driver’s seat and some ‘silver’ accents on the dashboard and seat upholstery.
Other than these two changes, the Beat remains largely unchanged and continues to be powered by a 1.0 litre, three cyl, diesel and a 1.2 litre, four cylinder, petrol engine. The three pot diesel engine is essentially a 1.3 litre Multijet motor minus a cylinder and has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 25.44 kmpl. The petrol engine is has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 18.6kmpl and can also be bought with a LPG kit.
