Chery and JLR form a JV for Chinese Car Market

Tata owned Brit automaker group Jaguar Land Rover and Chery, a Chinese car maker have formed a joint venture in Chinese car market. The two auto groups laid the foundation stone of their manufacturing facility yesterday. The new manufacturing plant is situated at Changshu, China and will be soon joined by a R&D center. The upcoming plant would be ready by 2014.

The Joint Venture would result into formation of a new brand which will market China specific cars under its name. The new brand will be called the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company.
