We reported in detail when the new Fiat Linea Classic was launched at an event in New Delhi yesterday. The new Linea Classic aims to bridge the gap between the Lower and Upper C segment and is priced only a little higher than cars like the Dzire and the Amaze.
Fiat has now come up with a TVC for its new Linea Classic range of budget end variants. The new TV commercial highlights how the rear seat passengers would love to spend time in this new car. As a lot Linea Classic customers would be chauffeur driven, they won’t miss the steering mounted audio controls or the less powerful diesel motor.

The new Fiat Linea Classic has been launched in two trim levels- Classic and Classic+.
The Classic goes on sale with both petrol and diesel engines- A 1.4-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.3-litre Multijet oil burner. The latter comes equipped with a fixed geometry turbocharger. that has a max power output of 75bhp. The regular Linea’s diesel engine sports a Variable Geometry Turbo, which makes the engine belt out a higher power output of 90bhp. The 1.4 litre petrol engine remains totally unchanged and hence, continues to have a has a max power of 89hp. The Classic+ comes only with the diesel engine.
The Linea Classic gets features like power windows, hydraulic power steering, programmable speed limit buzzer, dual parabola headlamps and fire prevention system. However, it misses out on fog lamps, alloy wheels, auto air con, airbags, beige dashboard, Blue&Me and steering mounted audio controls. The car’s claim to fame is that it is the longest sedan in its price segment.
The Linea Classic range will remain on sale even when the Linea facelift has been launched in India. The Linea facelift will come to us with more features and hence, possibly a higher price tag. The Linea facelift could also come with a more potent 1.6 litre Multijet diesel engine. The Fiat Linea facelift India launch could happen in during Indian Auto Expo 2014, which would happen in February next year.
