Renowned American singer, songwriter, musician and producer John Mayer has just gifted himself this go-anywhere house on wheels. The Grammy Award winning artiste posted an image of himself with the monster machine featuring a house with all the amenities built over it. The mod-job is carried out by Colorado based EarthRoamer – the world’s largest designers and builder of go-anywhere motor homes that the company prefers calling Expedition Vehicles.
“I am a proud owner of this most formidable go-anywhere, live-anywhere vehicle. One year and many meetings in the making, she’s all mine. Completely hand built in Colorado by extremely talented and innovative men and women. Who knows where I’ll end up next. #EarthRoamer #Ford” wrote John Mayer on his Instagram profile.
The EarthRoamer XV-LT series is built on the monster sized Ford F-550 commercial truck chassis. Powering this huge truck is a monstrous 6.8 liter V10 engine with 362 bhp of power and 620Nm of torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by Ford’s TorqShift 5-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.
Earthroamer XV-LT model line is currently the best-selling Xpedition Vehicle model in the world. The company uses advanced construction techniques and innovation to offer the most sophisticated expedition vehicles anywhere in the world. As a testimony to their belief in the quality of their products, Earthroamer provides a 3 year/36,000 (59,000 km) mile warranty on the Xpedition Vehicle conversion and modifications to the Ford truck. This is in addition to Ford’s 3 year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty on the base F-550 and a 5 year/100,000 mile engine warranty.
Engineered for independent, standalone operation, EarthRoamer Xpedition Vehicles use massive solar panel arrays, huge engine driven alternators and large battery banks to provide quiet and environmentally friendly power. With a capability to tackle the roughest of terrains, the XV range of vehicles can carry up to six adults seated in a spacious cab and up to ten more people in the camper depending on options and model chosen. These vehicles are also totally self sufficient with no dependence on external water, sewer and power hookups.
The company has sold more than 140 EarthRoamer Xpedition Vehicles with more than two dozen repeat buyers. Prices for the very basic version of the XV-LT start from Rs 1 crore including the donor vehicle, and may go up to some crazy numbers depending on the options you choose.
