The new Tata Zest will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 and will be launched in the first half of this year.

Tata Motors says the name Zest “signifies enthusiasm for life, for the sense of excitement, anticipation, and energy it brings, approaching life as an adventure. It is all about being vivacious and energetic”.
The Tata Zest has been designed by Tata Motors’ design studios in Pune (India), Coventry (UK) and Turin (Italy).
Under the hood of the new Tata Zest is an all-new 1.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Revotron motor that has a max power of 85 PS @ 5,000 rpm and peak torque of 140 Nm @ 1,750-3,000 rpm. The diesel variant is powered by the tried and tested 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced Quadrajet common rail turbo diesel engine that has a max power of 90 PS @ 4,000 rpm and peak torque of 200 Nm @ 1,750-3,000 rpm.
The diesel variant of Zest will have the first-in-class F-Tronic technology-enabled, 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission and will be powered by a segment-leading 90PS engine with 200 Nm of uninterrupted flat torque to offer a peppy drive with seamless delivery of power.
The car is 3995 mm long, 1695 mm wide and 1570 mm high. The Zest tips the weighing scales at 1,106 kg and comes with a fuel tank capacity of 44 liters.
The new Tata Zest will have EPAS (Electronic Power Assisted System), with ‘Active Return’ function and speed sensitive power steering.
