Car Sales March 2015: Nissan India registers 24.2% growth in sales for the year 2014-15

Amongst the top-3 gainers in the industry in terms of growth rate, Nissan India registered a growth of 24.2% over the previous financial year. They managed to sell a total of 47,474 units in their 10th year of existence in India. With an ongoing expansion of cross-segment product offering, network expansion and localization, Nissan’s year-on-year sales indicate healthy and faster growth supported by a growing retail presence with 61% growth in FY14. The manufacturer currently has 7 models on sale from two brands, across 6 segments, the latest being the Datsun Go+, India’s first sub 4 meter compact MPV. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, Nissan has established a new Parts Distribution Centre to strengthen after sales support.

Pleased with the progress demonstrated in their 10th year in India, Guillaume Sicard, President – Nissan India Operations called FY 14 as a significant year for the company, as they re-established the India business with an independent sales and marketing organization. He further added, “The growth we achieved was supported by the launch of 2 new models and fastest growing network. As we set ourselves a target of 5% market share by FY20, we are focused on sustaining and accelerating our performance.

Arun Malhotra, Managing Director – Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd, added, “2014 saw a huge focus on sales and marketing activities. Our sales network grew to 176 outlets with 60 outlets added in FY14. We also launched a host of innovative integrated campaigns to bring our vehicles closer to our customers.
