Bugatti has come up with yet another variant of the much publicized Veyron hypercar. The car maker brought its new Bugatti Veyron Vitesse WRC Limited Edition to the ongoing Auto Shanghai 2013.
The new Bugatti Veyron Vitesse WRC Limited Edition is basically a special edition of the regular Bugatti Veyron Vitesse. The latest variant is a commemorative model which celebrates a new world record that a Chinese driver made in a Veyron Vitesse. Anthony Liu, the Chinese driver, managed to register a top speed of 408.84km/h. The top speed was recorded on VW’s track at Ehra-Lessien.
Only 8 units of the Bugatti Veyron Vitesse WRC Limited Edition will be ever made. Other than having a big name, the Bugatti Veyron Vitesse WRC Limited Edition has a huge selling price of INR 14 crores.
Visual changes include a new orange and black dual paint job and a new roof spoiler to provide better stability at higher speeds. The interiors too get an orange-black color combo to compliment the exteriors.
The insides also get badges pronouncing the record run and having an autograph from Liu. There also is a Vitesse World Record Car logo.
Powering the car is the same 8.0-liter W16 motor that powers the regular Vitesse. The engine has a max power output of 1200bhp and the car is capable of dismissing the 100kmph mark in just 2.6 seconds. Thanks to the record run by Liu, the car has a new top speed figure of 254.04mph (408.84km/h).
