Bugatti releases teaser: Is the 1600 bhp Superveyron coming?

Bugatti has released a teaser image on its official Facebook page today. If the words churned out by the rumor mill are something to go by, the new teaser may point at the advent of the 1600bhp Superveyron, which aims at redefining supercar performance.

No concrete information is available on the new supercar which will have the speed fanatics the world over drooling. However, if we put on our speculative hat, we can think of a few pointers. With the world going increasingly green, even the most ludicrously excessive supercars want to see the green tag dangling on their grilles. We wouldn’t be surprised if the Super Veyron too is a petrol-electric Hybrid.

Engine, without a doubt will be force fed, probably with four big turbos working in unison to derive the maximum out of a 9.6 liter W16 monster. Power output is expected to be in the region of 1600bhp with more than 2000Nm of torque, capable of pulling the Earth out of its orbit.

A sub 2 second 0-100 km/h sprint time, and top speed a few tens km/h short of 500km/h are the performance highlights. Apart from the bhp gains, additional performance benefits are expected to be made with extensive use of exotic lightweight material such as magnesium alloys and carbon fiber. Even the wheels may be made of carbon fiber.

Expect the price to be upwards of Rs 12 crore in the countries where there isn’t any import duty on CBUs. Indian price tag will breach the Rs 25 crore mark without breaking a sweat, in all probability.

The VW group owned Italian carmaker posted the teaser today on its official Facebook page with the caption “The stage is set. It’s almost time for us to share the latest example of exceptional Bugatti performance, simply keep a close eye on Facebook over the next few days”.
