Breaking: Maruti Suzuki recalls 1492 cars for steering column fault

Maruti Suzuki India Limited today announced that it will inspect the steering column for 1492 vehicles (Ertiga: 306 nos, Swift: 592 nos, Dzire: 581 nos, A-Star: 13 nos), manufactured between 19th October, 2013 and 26th October 2013. If the steering column is found defective, the company will replace the steering column free of cost.

This exercise is limited to vehicles within the above specified range and does not pertain to any other vehicle of the Company or any of its exports. Maruti Suzuki dealers will contact owners of all vehicles in the above range. The new steering column has been despatched to dealer workshops.

Users of Maruti Suzuki cars (Ertiga, Swift, Dzire and A-Star) purchased after 19th October, 2013, can check the website www.marutisuzuki.com to ascertain if their car is among the above mentioned vehicles. The customer is requested to fill in the chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) on the computer screen. The chassis number is embossed on the vehicle ID plate and is also in the vehicle invoice / registration documents.

Customers may also contact the nearest Maruti Suzuki dealer workshop to ascertain if their vehicle is among the above vehicles. Information on this recall hereafter will be also available for customers on the company website:www.marutisuzuki.com

  1. Note: The image uploaded is of SWIFT facelift, which is yet to be launched as you know 🙂
    So technically that cannot be the Model with faults as mentioned
