Mahindra & Mahindra is not only focusing on the battle against Covid-19 pandemic but is also busy in updating their portfolio to meet BS6 emission norms. They have started accepting bookings for the BS6 Scorpio which has been updated to meet the more stringent norms. Prices of the BS6 Scorpio aren’t out yet but we can expect Mahindra to reveal the prices soon and commence deliveries once the lockdown is lifted. The online bookings for the 2020 Mahindra Scorpio BS6 can be availed by paying a token amount of ₹ 5,000. Apart from commencing the bookings, they have also updated their website with the details of BS6 Scorpio.

The updated Scorpio is available in four variants – S5, S7, S9 and S11. Customers can not only pre-book the SUV but can also choose to go along with factory fitted accessories like body-hugging bumpers, fog lamp garnish set, decals, parking cover, alloy wheels, headrest-mounted DVD touchscreen, scuff plates, carpet mat set and much more. This will subtract the need of going to an aftermarket dealer to avail of the above-mentioned accessories.
It hasn’t undergone any cosmetic changes and retains the same old silhouette. The Scorpio carries on with its imposing front grille with chrome inserts, 17-inch alloy wheels, ORVMs with side turn indicators, tailgate with chrome applique, sleek red lens LED taillights and much more. Apart from making the engine BS6 compliant, there are no major mechanical changes. The SUV gets a BS6 compliant 2.2-liter mHawk, four-cylinder diesel engine capable of producing 138 bhp of maximum power at 3,750 rpm and 320 Nm of peak torque between 1500-2800rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-Speed manual transmission.
Expect Mahindra to hike prices of the BS6 Scorpio, courtesy the mechanical changes. It might have lost AWD and AT trims but it still remains one of the most revered SUVs in the Indian market.
