BMW Motorrad India has launched the 100-year edition models of the R nineT and R 18 motorcycles in India at ₹24 Lakhs and ₹25.90 Lakhs Ex-showroom respectively. Customers can book these motorcycles at BMW Motorrad India dealerships from today onwards.
BMW Motorrad is celebrating its 100th anniversary by launching the 100-year edition models of two protagonists of the Heritage experience world – the R nineT Roadster, and the R 18 Cruiser with the big boxer engine. Since the BMW Motorrad was commenced in 1923, both the 100-year edition models are limited to 1923 units only.
BMW R nineT 100 Years
It took 100 years of motorcycle engineering experience amalgamated with a consistent and unbroken passion for the boxer engine. And the reduced design language of the R nineT is structured by the spectacular construction of the BMW Motorrad. BMW R nineT has the classic roadster design that skillfully sets the scene with a compact-sized tank and up-righted seating position along with high-quality materials and striking design elements.
One of the main highlights of the BMW Motorrad 100-year edition is the paint finish combined with chrome surfaces containing the copper and nickel. Other highlights include the chrome-plated tank sides and side covers, tank with black and chrome and white lining paint scheme, knee pads, 100-year moniker, black front wheel cover with white double lining, dual tone seat bench, black fork tubes, black air intake snorkel, stylish 17-inch Classic Wheels and optional 719 components accentuate its beauty.
The BMW Motorrad has provided plenty of electronic features like the Revolution counter, dynamic brake light, adjustable handbrake and clutch lever, chrome plated header, electronic indicator, On-board computer, LED Tail Light, Led Headlight, USB Charging Interface, Immobilizer, Comfort Turn Indicator and LED Flashing Turn Indicators. The special features comprise Adaptive Headlights, Special Edition, Pro Riding Modes, Heated Grips, Cruise Control, Billet Pack Shadow, and Billet Pack Shadow II.
In the heart of the matter is the 1.2L(1170cc) air-cooled flat twin-cylinder, 4-stroke engine belting out 109hp@7250rpm of power and 116nm@6000rpm of torque. The R nineT weighs 221kgs and this motorcycle can clock a top speed of 200km/h. In terms of suspension, the BMW Motorrad R nineT boasts the BMW Motorrad Para lever, Adjustable Rear Pre-load, Steering Stabilizer, Upside-down Forks, and Adjustable Rear Rebound.
BMW R 18 100 Years
The BMW R 18 borrows certain cues from famous BMW Models like the R5 and puts the focus essentially on a motorcycle. However, the paint scheme on the R 18 is similar to its sibling, the R nineT, the paint finish is combined with high gloss chrome surfaces containing copper and nickel. The cosmetic highlights of the R 18 100-year edition include the black side covers, stylish 19-inch spoke wheels, chrome rear wheel cover, white double lining on the front mudguard, 100-year moniker, black front wheel cover, optional dual tone color 719 upholsteries with diamond embossing.
The high-quality galvanized parts include the Handlebar fittings, gearshift and foot brake levers, handlebar clamps, handlebar weights, mirrors, brake master cylinders, brake calipers, engine casing covers, cylinder head covers, and intake manifold trims. The Other features of R 18 are a chrome plated header, and chrome Akrapovič rear silencers with perforated tailpipe trim in the “propeller style” of the BMW brand logo.
The BMW Motorrad has provided plenty of electronic features like the Revolution counter, electronic indicator, On-board computer, One Key for All Locks, Keyless Ride, Riding Modes (Rock, Roll, Rain) LED Tail Light, LED Headlight, 12V socket, Immobilizer, Comfort Turn Indicator and LED Flashing Turn Indicators. In the heart of the matter is the 1.8L(1802cc) air/oil-cooled flat twin-cylinder, 4-stroke engine belting out 91hp@4750rpm of power and 158nm@3100rpm of torque. The R 18 weighs 345kgs and this motorcycle can clock at a top speed of 180km/h. In terms of suspension, the BMW Motorrad R 18 boasts the ASC (Automatic Stability Control), BMW Motorrad Integral Abs, Twin Disk Front Brake, Rear Pre-load Adjustable Telescopic Forks, and Dynamic Brake Control. Furthermore, BMW is offering 3 years or unlimited kilometers of standard warranty on Motorrad bikes which can be extended up to the 5th year at an attractive cost.
