BMW India has launched its legendary performance sedan the M5 competition. The M5 competition is priced at ₹1.62 crores and is available via the completely built-up unit route (CBU). The M5 Competition can be booked online via BMW India’s website.
The M5 competition is powered by the mammoth twin-turbo V8 which churns out 617hp and 750nm of torque. It can hit 0-100km/h in just 3.3 seconds and go on to a delimited top speed of 300km/h. These duties are taken care of by M Steptronic transmission which ensures lightning-quick shifts.
BMW has done away with the DCT transmission from the previous generation M5 and chose a torque converter transmission for the F90 generation. The M5 Competition comes with three driving modes namely road, sport and track which can be selected using the M selector buttons on the steering wheel.
The exterior changes are in line with the recently launched 5 series facelift. The front and rear get a lot of M specific design changes like gloss black kidney grille, M spec ORVMS and a boot-mounted spoiler. You also get quad exhaust pipes which gives the rear a truly menacing look. The headlights are new BMW laser headlights along with redesigned smoked LED tail lamps. The roof gets carbon fibre treatment to save weight and the wheels are 20-inch M light-alloy wheels.
The driver-focused cabin gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The latest generation idrive system is now compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The interior has a host of customization options like leather upholstery like Silverstone, Aragon Brown and Black. You also get M badges all around the cabin to remind you of the beast that you are sitting in.
Apart from this, you also get electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, electric tailgate, 16-speaker Harman Kardon stereo system, wireless charging, ambient lighting, four-zone climate control and display key.
The M5 Competition goes up against the likes of Audi RS6 Avant and the Mercedes Benz E63 AMG. The M5 Competition is truly one of the most practical performance car that you can buy in the country and what further sweetens the deal is how it can even put many supercars to shame with its performance!
