Blauplunkt India plans to target larger audience base by introducing two affordable car stereos for the Indian market. The two single-DIN new models named Tokyo 110 and Manchester 110 are priced at Rs 4,990 and Rs 5,990 respectively. These models feature USB and SD card playback, aux-in, FM/ AM and remote controls. While the Manchester 110 gets a CD player, the Tokyo 110 misses out on the feature. The audio maker plans to sell nearly 8,000 units of these new car systems in the country.

Speaking about these new models, Preeti Bakshi, marketing head of Blaupunkt India, said: “These (Tokoy 110 and Manchester 110) models raise the bar on value, while lowering the price point for a quality car radio. After a phenomenal response worldwide, we expect these products to be very successful in the Indian market.”

Blaupunkt hopes to improve its reach to the masses through these car stereos. The feature list looks lucrative at the price tag. However, the absence of a CD player in the Tokyo 110 may impact the sales. Blaupunkt also plans to introduce a low-end stereo system with integrated speakers by January 2015 and a product along the lines of the Manchester 110 and the Tokyo 110 which supports Bluetooth, in the first quarter of 2015.
