Bikers for Good is organizing a Motorcycle Rally called “Ride for Mom”. Starting off from South Extension to the Indian Cancer Society’s Detection Centre at 42 Babar Road, Bengali market, the rally is the first of the kind where Mothers will be riding pillion with their children.
Organized on 12th May celebrated worldwide as Mother’s Day and named as “First Mother’s Day” for the event, the rally aims to unite the celebration of motherhood and and the same time spread awareness on breast cancer by making children the caretakers of their mother’s health.
In India, Breast cancer is responsible for an annual death figure of over 50,000 women. Worse is that the affected women are in the prime age leaving behind their children with the burden of a motherless childhood. The event would also see children who have lost their mother’s to breast cancer, share their feelings and experiences to others and the appeal to get their mothers screened every year for prevention of such tragedies.
The Indian Cancer Society, a community based volunteer organization dedicated to eliminating cancer is partnering the event with the digital led integrated campaign produced by Films Rajendraa and social media being handled by Sirez.
The Indian Cancer Society is offering “Gift of Life” Certificates for Mothers at less than one third of regular rates. These will be presented at ICS Cancer Detection Centre (Screening) and ICS Prashanti (Mammography/DEXA) so that Children can proudly say ‘Our mothers health in our hand’.
The Cancer Detection Centre will remain open on Sunday 12 May from 9.00 am – 5.00pm for women who wish to come for screening and can be contacted on 011-23716941 and Mammograms- Prashanti (Diagnostics centre) situated at 11/70 Vikram Vihar, Lajpat Nagar IV can be contacted on 41729393 and would remain open at the same timings.
