Bentley Motors had unveiled its first ever SUV, the Bentayga in September last year. Claimed to be one of the most powerful SUV’s in the world, the Bentayga First edition started reaching its customers late last month. Now, the British luxury automobile manufacturer plans to launch the SUV in India. The launch is scheduled to take place on the 22nd of April.

Based on VW group’s MLB-Evo platform that underpins the Audi Q7 as well as the upcoming Porsche Cayenne, the Bentayga is also described by the company as the most exclusive SUV in the world. Dimension wise, the Bentayga measures 5141 mm in length, 2223 mm in width and 1742 mm in height apart from a wheelbase of 2992 mm.

This engine is mated to an 8 speed ZF automatic transmission and comes with a permanent all-wheel drive. The Bentayga is capable of sprinting from naught to 100 km/ph (60 mph) is a mere 4 seconds while the top speed stands at 301 km/ph (187 mph).

Some features on the Bentayga include the signature quad round LED headlamps, dual exhaust pipes, an integrated spoiler and 22 inch alloy wheels. On the inside, it receives handcrafted leather, a floating digital instrument cluster, diamond embroidered quilted leather seats with 22 way adjustment, and most importantly (or expensively) the Breitling Tourbillon clock that costs as much as the SUV itself!

Even as the launch date for the Bentayga nears, one particular model of the Bentayga has been spotted prowling on the streets of Delhi. The vehicle in question is the first model to land in India and reports suggest that this very model, in a shade of ‘Bentayga Bronze’ will join its garage mates in Hyderabad, most of them being Bentleys as well. The Bentayga comes to India with a price tag starting at Rs. 4 crores and goes upwards of Rs. 5 crores (both, Ex-Showroom) depending on the level of customization. All the 20 units currently allocated for the country this year have been sold out. Catch the Bentayga in action through the video below.
