Benelli Tornado 302R India launch Rescheduled; Likely To Happen After April 2017

DSK-Benelli India has reportedly postponed the launch of the fully faired Tornado 302R to introduce a BS-IV compliant model. The new model will reportedly arrive in India within a few weeks. The launch which was initially planned around January 2017 has been postponed to April 2017.

There would be no changes to the design of the motorcycle. The only update we’d see is to the engine to comply with the latest emission norms. We may also see marginal changes to the performance output and to the weight of the motorcycle however, it would be too early to comment on that front.

The previous model, which was unveiled at the 2015 EICMA show in Milan, came with a 300cc liquid cooled, prallel twin cylinder engine as seen on the TNT300. This engine on the 302R has been tuned to produce 34 hp and 27 Nm. The Tornado 302 will ride on 17 inch wheels, with a 100/70 section Metzeler tyre up-front and a 150/60 section Metzeler tyre at the rear. Braking duties will be handled by dual 260 mm discs at the front and a single 240 mm disc at the rear.
