Bajaj Auto aims to make electric mobility accessible to a broader audience while expanding its retail presence nationwide, tripling the number of Chetak showrooms in the coming months.

With the success of the previous product upgrades, Bajaj Auto’s Executive Director, Rakesh Sharma, affirmed the company’s commitment to delivering value-driven solutions. While specifics regarding the pricing remain undisclosed, Sharma hinted that the new variant would cater to the mass market, diverging from the premium segment. Expectations suggest a smaller battery and a hub-mounted motor, promising efficiency without compromising performance.

Since its entry into the EV market in January 2020, Bajaj Auto has witnessed remarkable growth, selling over 1,00,000 Chetak e-scooters in the fiscal year 2023-24, capturing a commendable 14% market share. The strategic expansion of Chetak retail outlets from 164 cities to an anticipated 600 stores within the next few months underscores Bajaj Auto’s commitment to catering to evolving consumer demands nationwide.
