The best of ideas are the simplest and are often born out of experiences or when you are busy shedding excess weight in the morning. So it must be true then, the lesser you weigh, the faster you think. Stefano Mangini is one such man who discovered an idea while travelling on a motorcycle from China to Italy, by road. Along the way, he thought about ‘Funnell’, a waterproof backpack with a built-in jacket. So imagine yourself on a motorbike, caught unawares in sudden rain, your immediate plan of action will be, find the nearest shelter, get off the bike, remove your backpack, unzip it, unfold the rain wear, leave your bag unattended and wear that rain gear. What if all you had to do is, reach the back of your neck, pull out your jacket from your backpack, like a Ninja pulling out his twin Katanas.
Originally developed and designed with Motorcyclists in mind, the ‘Funnell’ will be available in two versions, Sport, for active lifestyle, while the City version is designed for the professional or a city dweller. Now, if you would like to see this product becoming popular, or want to buy it yourself, Stefano needs your help. If the Funnell has to be mass produced, it will require funding. The project is now live on the mass-funding site Kickstarter. Stefano has to reach $43,000 by Sunday, August 31st.
