Auto Expo 2018: Toyota To Showcase Vios Sedan, New Concepts

The 2018 Auto Expo is about a week away and we’re going to have numerous stalls at the biennial event with various manufacturers showcasing what they have in store for their customers here in India. While we’ve already covered various two and four wheeler manufacturers, this time we tell you what Toyota India plans to show at their pavilion.

Toyota Yaris/Vios

The Toyota Yaris also known as the Vios in a few other markets, is a sedan that will rival the likes of the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and the Hyundai Verna in the Indian automobile market. It is believed that the India-spec model will be similar to that of the sedan sold in the Singapore market. Dimension wise, the Vios measure 4425 mm in length, 1730 mm in width and 1475 mm in height, while the wheelbase stands at 2550 mm.

Taking inspiration from its elder cousin, the Corolla Altis, the Vios receives sweptback project headlamps divided by a single slat grille with a Toyota logo sitting in between. The posterior of the model features wraparound tail lights and integrated reflectors. Inside, the sedan comes equipped with climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, three spoke steering wheel and a dual pod instrument cluster.  It remains unknown which of these features would make it to the India-spec model. At the heart of the Vios will be a 1.5-litre petrol motor that develops 107 hp at 6000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a five speed manual gearbox.

Toyota Concepts:

Commenting on the subject, N.
