Auto Expo 2016: Suzuki DR-Z70, Quadsport Z400 and Burgman showcased

The Suzuki pavilion at the Auto Expo housed the two-wheeler maker’s complete product line-up for India. Sharing show floor with the regular bikes were heavy two wheeled giants flaunting their muscle. To give them company. there were some agile motocross machines too, showing off their abilities. For this specific post, we are going to pick the odd ones out – the tiny Suzuki DR-Z70, Suzuki Quadsport Z400 and the Hulky – Suzuki Burgman

Suzuki DR-Z70:

The DR-Z70 is built for young riders (as young as 10 years) to learn the fundamentals of riding or developing their skills. On the visual front the Suzuki DR-Z70 borrows design cues from its way elder siblings – the RM-Z250 and RM-Z450 and comes splashed in Champion Yellow paint scheme.

It draws power from a tiny 70cc, twin-valve, 4-stroke, SOHC, air-cooled engine. The power is pushed to the wheels by a 3-speed transmission with automatic clutch. The maker claims that the DR-Z70 boasts superior displacement count than its rivals and the engine can spout enough power and torque to keep the Z70 ahead in any race. The tine racer rides on 10 –inch wheels at the front as well as rear. The start button on the handlebar cranks the engine and a secure keyed ignition provides maximum parent control.

Suzuki Quadsport Z400:

The Suzuki QuadSport Z400 is a fun ride on four wheels through rough terrains and tracks. It is powered by a Compact, lightweight 398cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The engine is equipped with fuel injection system that is claimed to provide a quicker and stronger acceleration than its predecessor.

The power generated is pushed to the wheels by a five-speed transmission with cable-operated clutch.  The ride quality of the QuadSport is complimented by improved chassis’s rigidity balance and offers better stability particularly on rough terrains. The electric start system includes Start-In-Gear feature – electric start system and CDI ignition and are powered by a compact maintenance-free battery. The QuadSport Z400 rides on lightweight aluminum alloy wheels wrapped with radial tires for reduced unsprung weight.

And now it time for the Scooter Hulk from Suzuki – The Suzuki Burgman

The Burgman is a luxury scooter that brings performance and comfort into one single package. The Suzuki Burgman is powered by newly tuned, liquid-cooled, 638cc, DOHC, 8-valve, twin-cylinder engine. The wheels spin with the help of the Suzuki Electronically-controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (SECVT). The transmission tech’s updated design includes new clutch plates that cause 35% less drag. The engine is mounted in a forward position in a tubular frame and an aluminium-alloy swingarm provides a better balance and agility.

The Burgman 650 is also equipped with ABS that helps to maximize the rider’s control by preventing the wheels from locking during hard brake application. The ABS unit weighs 55% less than the previous model.
