Overshadowed by the Mahindra XUV Aero, a very lonely Ssangyong Tivoli compact SUV occupied a quiet corner at the Auto Expo 2016. Surprisingly, although the Tivoli has been spotted testing in India a few times, Mahindra neither mentioned in as many words or hinted at the launch of this baby SUV in India. Launched in Korea last year, the Tivoli’s powertrain delivers 126PS of maximum power and a maximum torque of 16.0kgm, paired with Aisin’s 2nd-generation A/T.
Features offered on the Tivoli include a fully-automatic dual air-conditioning system with memory function which remembers the preferred air volume, air direction, and temperature in three modes, ventilated driver’s seat, heated steering wheel and heated second-row seats.
Apart from disc brakes on all four corners, multiple safety features are used such as multi-functional ESP, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System and LED daytime running lamps. Tivoli’s excellent safety is proven by its near-perfect ratings in the AE-MDB (Advanced European Mobile Deformable Barrier) test.
