Alongwith the Rodius and the 2.0 liter Rexton variant, Mahindra group owned Ssangyong displayed the concept christened as Limit Interface Vehicle (LIV-1) at the Auto Expo 2014. The new concept previews an all new upcoming SUV which will sit below the Rexton in the near future. The LIV-1 concept showcases the 3S-Cube philosophy which will be adopted in the upcoming products from the Korean car maker.
Ssangyong explains the concept by saying “LIV-1 implies the meaning of Limitless Potentials and Limitless Joy which expresses the unlimited high performance and the value of large premium SUV concept.”
The Ssangyong LIV-1 features a hexagonal grille akin to the one on the Rodius. The grille integrates neatly into the headlamps and intake vents. The headlamps on the concept leap back towards the A-pillar, while the fog lamps feature a symmetrical pattern.
The 3S-Cube philosophy from Ssanyong also forms interface for the driver-vehicle communication. Using a smart remote device, the 3S combines the elements of Smart Link, Safe Way and Special Sense for the vehicle to provide entertainment on the inside as well as the outside of the vehicle. The Safe Way helps in preventing collisions in blind spots and at intersections and Smart Link is a roof-and-glass system created from nano-technology to remove frost instantly.
