It is being said that GM owned car brand Holden could be axed as early as 2016.

ABC says that several senior government ministers have confirmed that Holden was to announce the bad news this week itself but has now decided to postpone the announcement till early next year.

It is also being said that the Australian government has been studying the possibility of providing financial help to the automotive industry but still, it is now pretty much for sure that Holden will be seen quitting Australian market regardless of any sort of assistance from the government.

If the good chaps at News Corp Australia are to be believed, the closure could be announced on December 20 this year. However, many industry insiders believe that the manufacturer is still busy pondering if it should make an announcement only after Christmas.
