Audi A3 Sedan Spotted in India for the Second Time

We recently posted first ever spy pics of an Audi A3 sedan that was spotted in India. Now, the A3 Sedan has been caught testing in India again and here is the pic from the second sighting of the car on Indian terrain.

The A3 sedan is a Mercedes CLA Class adversary and is looking all set to become the new entry level sedan in Audi India’s product portfolio.The new Audi A3 sedan has a styling that is distinctive of Audi sedans and looks like a slightly smaller version of the Audi A4.

The designers at Audi have done a remarkable job with flawlessly sticking a boot to the A3 hatchback and the new car definitely looks like an Audi sedan should. The A3 sedan’s wheelbase is 2.64m long and the car has an overall length of 4.46m and width of 1.8m. The A3 sedan has a kerb weight of 1250kg and the car has a boot space of 425 litres.

The entry level diesel variant of the A3 Sedan is powered by a 2.0 litres TDI engine that has a max power output of 150bhp and a peak torque figure of 320Nm. The motor enables the new car to accelerate to 100kmph in 8.7 second and have a fuel economy of approx 25kmpl. The base petrol engine on offer is a 1.4 litres TFSI engine that has a max power output of 140bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. This variant of the car can accelerate to 100kmph in 8.4 seconds and return a fuel efficiency figure of approx 20kmpl. A more powerful 1.8 litres TFSI engine is also on offer. This engine produces 180bhp of max power and 250Nm of peak torque. This variant of the car can accelerate to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds and return a fuel efficiency of close to 18 kmpl. Transmission options will be a 6-speed manual or the 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox.

Audi has also revealed the details of the S3 performance variant that will be powered by a 300bhp 2.0 TFSI engine. This motor will enable the car to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 4.9 seconds and will bestow the car with a top whack of electronically governed 250kmph.

The new car comes kitted out with Audi’s MMI system, a 7-inch screen, Adaptive cruise control, Lane change assist and Pre-sense safety. The Audi A3 sedan is expected to come to us in the last quarter of 2013. It is being said that the car will be launched in India with a sticker price of around INR 18 lakhs for the base model.
